Vaila Anderson is a director originally from Fife. She trained on the integrated MA Directing Course at Drama Centre London. Upon graduating, she adapted and directed Eimear McBride’s novel The Lesser Bohemians which debuted at the Zabludowicz Collection, London.
For the National Theatre of Scotland, Vaila worked with the late Michael Boyd on his production of Medea, at the Edinburgh International Festival. She further shadowed Cora Bissett on her site-specific production of Interference which premiered at City Park, Glasgow.
Passionate about using theatre as a way of opening up opportunity to everyone, Vaila has worked with the Citizens Theatre’s outreach programme Off the Page and in the Gorbals and the Shakespeare Schools Festival.
Her further directing credits include To all the Witches I Didn’t Burn (Ivy House London), I Love My Loud Voice Campaign (Advance Charity), The Lesser Bohemians ( Zabludowicz Collection), Liebe (Venue 70 Edinburgh Fringe), Macbeth (Shakespeare Schools Festival, Venue 70 Edinburgh Fringe).
