Petre Dobre is a Glasgow based actor, movement specialist and director for stage and screen. Originally from Romania, Petre graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2018. He was BSL Trainee Director and then Associate Director at Macrobert Arts Centre from 2018 – 2020, where he developed as a physical performer and poetic storyteller of visually stunning narratives.
Petre’s acting credits includes Romeo & Juliet with Graeae Theatre/Shakespeare North, The Outrun with EIF/The Royal Lyceum Theatre Company and Time to Wake Up with Solar Bear. He has developed work independently, artistically performed in BSL for music (including opera), created/filmed visual storytelling for children, led workshops and supported research & development work.
Recently Petre worked creatively with Marc Brew on Boys Don’t Dance and led on children’s storytelling for Bookbug and Paisley Book Festival among many others.
Petre is an ardent performer and mountain biking enthusiast who is passionate about bringing stories to life in a uniquely visual way.
