Mick Duke has worked as a writer, director and community artist in Scotland and Ireland, Europe and the US for nearly forty years. Over that time he has designed and delivered workshops and projects, scripts and performances with communities in Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh and most of all in Dundee.
He was Associate Director – Community at Dundee Rep from 1992 – 1998, and is delighted to have the opportunity to return as an interim director now, sharing the role with regular collaborator Claire Lamont. In between stints in Dundee he was Artistic Director of the award winning Belfast based new writing company Tinderbox for twelve years, before travelling widely as a freelance artist.
As a writer, he has collaborated on many devising projects, including with Melanie Stewart Dance Theater in Philadelphia, Livingstones Kabinet in Denmark, and Plutot La Vie, Lung Ha, Benchtours and Birds of Paradise in Scotland.
