Born in Bologna, Italy, Massimo trained at Trinity Laban graduating with a first class BA(hons) in 2018. During his undergraduate studies, he also spent a semester in Paris at the Conservatoire National Supérieur.
In 2019 Massimo was part of VERVE (NSCD, Leeds) going on tour in the UK, Austria and Switzerland performing pieces by Maxine Doyle, Joan Clevillé, Ben Wright and Noa Zuk & Ohad Fishof.
After his training in UK, Massimo went back to Italy where he started working as a freelance dancer, teacher and choreographer, in particular building since 2022 a collaborative relationship as an dancer with choreographer Nicola Galli, with whom he went on tour in Italy, the Netherlands, France and Switzerland.
As a maker, Massimo started his own choreographic practice in 2021, and since then he was able to present his work in such contexts as Gender Bender International Festival, Romaeuropa festival, Shanghai International Dance Centre, ATLAS showcase in ImPulsTanz, FND Aterballetto and Inteatro Festival, to name a few
After a few steps and recognitions in the industry as an emerging choreographer, Massimo in 2023 became an associate artist of TIR danza, an Italian dance company, who currently co-produces his works.
In addition to his dance path, Massimo graduated at the University of Bologna with a BA in Modern Literature and a Masters Degree in Theatre Studies, with a thesis about dance and the museum.
Torn by a passion for exploring the world and the love for his home country, Massimo never stops searching for opportunities to embark on new adventures with his backpack, or alternatively to spread the word about the beauty of Bologna, its amenities and gastronomic delights.
Massimo joined Scottish Dance Theatre in 2024 and keeps working to build relationships between Italy and the UK
