Martin Suckling is a composer and violinist. He has been commissioned by many leading ensembles including the LSO, London Sinfonietta, BBC Philharmonic, BBCSSO, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Toronto Symphony Orchestra. From 2013-2018 he was Associate Composer with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and currently teaches at the University of York. His song cycle The Tuning to texts by Michael Donaghy recently won a Scottish Award for New Music 2020. Martin is published by Faber Music; amongst other enthusiasms, he likes tea, otters, and microtones.
