Louis is a freelance dancer born and based in London, although having been brought up in various countries around South America and in Italy.
Louis started training in Hip Hop styles from the age of 12, and later moved to contemporary training once he moved to the UK. He studied at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, working with choreographers such as Lea Anderson and Gary Clarke. He gained a BA (Hons), and later an MA (Hons).
After training, Louis began his career in 2020 as an apprentice for Tanzmainz in Germany. In his time there he performed two works by Felix Berner, and was in creation for one by Rosalba Torres Guerrero & Koen Agustijien (cie. Siamese).
Louis then joined the Akram Khan Company, where he was part of the production ‘Outwitting the Devil’. This piece toured worldwide for two and a half years.
As a freelance artist in London, Louis has also had the privilege to work with artists and companies such as DeNada Dance Theatre, Chris Jäger, Matsena Productions, and Soufiane Ababri. Also aiding in the creative endeavours of choreographers Hannes Langolf, John Ross and Tom Dale. Louis also works as a rehearsal director and workshop leader for various choreographers and educational institutes.
A lover of all things creative, Louis is a massive fan of music. He also enjoys gastronomy, cinema and travelling.
Louis feels inspired by the atmosphere of Scottish Dance Theatre and is very excited to be involved in their work as a guest artist.
