Kai graduated with a first-class degree from Central School of Ballet in 2015, where he was in the BBC young dancers inaugural year where he was in the contemporary dance category final. He went on to tour with the postgraduate company VERVE at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, performing works by Anton Lachky, Renaud Wiser, Efrosini Protopapa and Athina Vahla.
He then worked with a variety of companies including 2Faced Dance company and Southpaw Dance before moving to Japan to work with Noism1 Dance Company for three seasons, performing works by Jo Kanamori and Mori Yuki, as well as his own choreographic works. He then worked with Fabula Collective in Tokyo, performing work by Travis Clausen Knight. He returned to the UK in 2021, joining Richard Chappell Dance, before joining the BalletBoyz, touring works by punchdrunks Maxine Doyle and Xie Xin.
He performed at the Commonwealth Games opening Ceremony before joining Scottish Dance Theatre in August 2022.
Kai continues to develop his own practice and enjoys working on building relations between the UK and Japanese dance sectors.
Kai is really looking forward to immersing himself fully into the world of Scottish Dance Theatre and the companies practice, performing and exploring an array of different works and methodologies.
