Jonathan Watson was born and raised in Glasgow. He trained at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. His career has spanned theatre, film and television.
He features as Colin Whyte in BBC1’s TWO DOORS DOWN, while other TV work includes NAKED VIDEO, CITY LIGHTS, RAB C. NESBITT, ONLY AN EXCUSE?, THE BILL, GARROW'S LAW, FRIED, NEW TRICKS, WATERLOO ROAD, CASUALTY, UPSTART CROW, BACK, RUBENESQUE, A BETTER PLACE, TAPPED, BOB SERVANT INDEPENDENT, THE DIPLOMAT, ANNIKA, THIS TIME...WITH ALAN PARTRIDGE, DOCTOR WHO, and David Ireland’s COLDWATER.
He has worked extensively with Glasgow Citizens, NTS, Traverse, and 7:84. Recent theatre worth includes FIBRES by Frances Poet - which was subsequently filmed, MAN’S BEST FRIEND by Douglas Maxwell - Both directed by Jemima Levick. He’s just appeared in SOMEONE’S KNOCKING AT THE DOOR by Milly Sweeney - for PP&P at Oran Mor.
Film work includes - LOCAL HERO, GIRL IN THE PICTURE, THE MATCH, SOLID GEOMETRY, FILTH, and the award winning LET US PREY - which premiered at The Edinburgh International Film Festival.
He is married with one son, and lives in Glasgow.
