We are deeply disappointed by the delay in Creative Scotland’s Multi-Year Funding decision, now postponed until January. The ongoing uncertainty surrounding the level of funding available to Creative Scotland has placed us in an extremely difficult position. This delay presents immediate and significant operational challenges, exacerbated by the lack of clarity on the whether our organisation will be one of those invested in, and at what level. It severely affects our ability to plan for even the immediate future and poses a direct threat to our financial stability.
Without urgent certainty on our funding, we are left with no choice but to escalate our scenario planning and halt spending commitments for the next financial year. This places our organisation in a precarious position and our ability to serve our audiences and the wider community is critically compromised. After years of rising costs in parallel with standstill funding, without a swift resolution the future of our organisation remains uncertain.
Now, more than ever, your support is crucial to keeping the arts alive in Scotland. Whether it’s catching a show, grabbing a bite in our restaurant, joining a class, or making a donation, every contribution makes a real difference. Together, we can ensure the arts remain a vital part of our community, bringing creativity and connection to all.
