Job Description
Museum of Futures
An international creative lab & public sharing of practices
Ciało/Umysł and Scottish Dance Theatre are launching a unique international artistic exchange and research project as part of British Council’s UK/Poland Season 2025.
WHAT IS "MUSEUM OF FUTURES"?
At a time when the future feels increasingly uncertain, complex, and even frightening, this project responds to the urgent need to reclaim imagination. If we do not shape our own futures, someone else will define them for us.
Through dance, choreography, and movement research, this creative lab invites artists to engage in speculative, embodied world-building—to question, disrupt, and reimagine possible futures. The project will culminate in a public sharing as part of the Ciało/Umysł Festival in Warsaw in October 2025.
WHO IS LEADING THE PROJECT?
The project is curated and led by:
Agnieszka Jakimiak – an independent dramaturg and theatre director known for her bold, interdisciplinary approach to storytelling
Joan Clevillé – Artistic Director of Scottish Dance Theatre, whose work explores the intersection of dance, theatre, and philosophy
Together, they will guide a group of eleven artists—six members of Scottish Dance Theatre and five independent dance artists/movement practitioners from Poland—through an intensive week-long residency in Burdag, Poland.
WHO CAN APPLY?
We are looking for five independent dance artists and movement practitioners (18+) regularly based in Poland with at least 3 years professional experience whose work explores the intersection of dance, theatre, and storytelling.
We invite inquisitive, open-minded artists with a distinct creative voice, who are excited about collaboration, experimentation, and dialogue.
This project is rooted in inclusivity and diversity—we encourage artists of all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences to apply.
