About Conversation with Laura Moorhouse: risographs, kinship and care
An informal sharing event with Present Futures Risograph Associate Laura Moorhouse - Laura will display her risograph works and invite conversations with the public, taking questions and exchanging thoughts about their creation and the ideas that inspire them; kinship, social permaculture and radical care. Grab a drink and get rare access to a conversation with an artist about their work 1:1.
Laura’s work explores rest, care and the confines of the unwell body, informed by her experiences as a disabled/chronically ill person. Playfulness is actively nurtured in her work, to avoid the solemnity that often surrounds portrayals of chronic illness and disability – our bodyminds can be bold, joyful, colourful.
As an emerging artist, she is learning to work on crip time – with the body, rather than against it – prioritising flexible, comfortable ways of making.
The event will be in Dundee Rep Theatre Café Bar and is the perfect pre-cursor to our Double Bill: The Violet Hour & Conversations with Eve which will take place in the theatre at 7.15pm.
