Chatterbox is about the power of language, words and the impact of labels. Who get listened to and who doesn’t. How does that impact a 5 year old girl who was called stupid because she couldn’t speak English at primary school? How kindness can go a long way to help the pain.
Chatterbox is about the impact of labels. Being bullied at school because you are different and then you develop a stutter. A young child hiding her embarrassment but found coping methods. When being bullied wasn’t just the domain of the other pupils.
The young child determined to not be held back makes her own way in life but then discovers her own granddaughter has a stutter, Full of guilt thinking she had passed something on to her.
How can she now tell her children her secret and how will they react?
