I am a playwright from the North East, currently based in Glasgow. My debut play Shotgunned premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2024, receiving five-star reviews from several outlets, including The Stage, and winning the Bright Spark Award. The play is a time-hopping, two hander following Roz and Dylan, a young couple who, despite best intentions, are unable to remain in each others lives once tragedy strikes. Shotgunned transferred to Riverside Studios in London for a three-week run in 2025, and this year is returning to the Fringe as part of the Made in Scotland showcase. To coincide with this Fringe run, the play will also be published by Nick Hern Books.
My second play Death of an Influencer was part of A Play, A Pie, and A Pint’s Autumn 2025 Season. The show starred beloved Scottish actors George Drennan and Andrew Agnew, and told the story of an aging unsuccessful actor who, after performing another lacklustre theatre show, is visited by his superstar, TikTok-er son. Death of an Influencer explores a rapidly-shifting industry, and the difficulty that comes with being proud of those around you, especially when you feel they don’t deserve it. It was well-recieved by critics and audiences alike, described as a “beautifully constructed, cautionary tale for the modern age…” and sold out nearly the entirety of its two week run.
I see myself as a writer first and foremost, though I also produce and direct - Shotgunned, for example, I have directed since it’s inception. Character comes first in each of my stories, as I always aim to construct individuals who feel real and whose bad decisions feel understandable. I want audiences to be entertained whilst watching my work, and leave the theatre thinking about their place in the world today.
